PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Arsinoe II Philadelphos, Died 270/68 B.C. AR Dekadrachm (33.50 gms), Alexandreia Mint, struck under Ptolemy II, circa 253/2-246 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 1/5. Smoothing. Obverse: Veiled head right, wearing stephanos and rams horn; lotus-tipped scepter in background, MM to left; Reverse: Filleted double cornucopia, with grape bunches hanging at sides. Some scattered roughness and subsequent smoothing is noted, especially upon the reverse, but this large format silver issue--always a popular type--stands as a great budget example.
