Love Token Fashioned out of an 1884-Dated Morgan Dollar. The reverse of the host coin depicts an intricate pictorial engraving of a cross, an anchor and a heart (with the date of 1885 on it), at top a scroll engraved AUNT NORA, a bottom a scroll engraved LOVE TOKEN. The fields are fully dimpled with a heavy ornate wreath border. A loop is attached to the top for suspension, but it looks like it was originally made with 4 loops, 2 on each side, that have been removed. Perhaps it was in a bracelet or necklace at one time. Rarely are love tokens so clearly identified as such! From the Steve M. Tompkins Collection.
