Circa 1882 Phillipse Manor medal. Musante GW-979, Baker-376. Silver. MS-64+ (PCGS).35.2 mm. Deep blue-green and rose accents over otherwise deep gray silver on the obverse. A curious small accent of brilliant silver is seen at Washington’s eye. The reverse is much lighter silver with bright golden orange and rose at the center, a ring of deep blue around that and light golden silver at the rims. Boldly reflective and attractive. Apparently very rare in silver as it was unknown to Baker in 1885, while Rulau and Fuld were still unaware of it more than a century later.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
