Obverse: Mercury, with head left, seated facing on globe, holding caduceus and overturned cornucopia; implements of manufacturing and trading below and in background; Reverse: Blank scroll for engraving; crowned civic coat-of-arms below. An intensely lustrous and prooflike piece, this rare gold medal presents a pleasing allegorical scene and exceptional relief. Some light marks and hairlines in the fields are noted, as well as a moderate number around the reverse rim. Mentioned as 1930-dated on the holder, though no date appears on either side.
