Deming, New Mexico. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 628. The Deming NB. Charter #6974. PMG Very Fine 25.A tremendous rarity from a small southern New Mexico town that opened its doors in 1903 and went into receivership in 1924. Of the five notes known, two are Territorial Red seals, both from the Deming NB, both in very low grade. The other three consist of, this note, which last sold in a 2009 auction for $20,700, and two other lower grade blue seals. This is the finest example by a small margin. The purple signatures are a bit faded with just a portion visible. There are also a few small holes on the bottom which PMG comments Small Holes, Erasure.
