A very pleasing lightly circulated Brown Back $10 retaining nice color, strong penned signatures, and good centering. For a bank that issued more than $4.5 million in notes, rather few have survived. There are around 35 large-size notes reported including the notes we are offering this evening. This bank was chartered with a capital of $200,000 against an authorization of $500,000. It operated successfully and issued paper money in various series into the 20th century.
