1835 Matron Head Cent. N-6. Rarity-1. Small 8 and Stars. MS-64 BN (PCGS). CAC.A beautiful and important coin with superior technical quality in every respect. Rich mahogany hues saturate the complexion and are dusted with faint sea-green accents throughout. A swath of darker espresso coloration at the lower obverse readily identifies this piece as the Noyes plate coin, used to represent the N-6 variety in his 2012 middle-date reference. A flaw in the planchet obscures Libertys eye, though magnification fails to reveal any noteworthy post-mint abrasions. Overall well-struck and nicely centered, with the obverse just slightly drawn towards 12 oclock. Tied for CC #4 in the Noyes census and assigned an EAC grade of MS-60. Noyes Die State B/A.From the Paradise Collection. Earlier ex our (Bowers and Merena) sale of January 1992, lot 520; Tom Reynolds, September 2004, Ira and Larry Goldbergs sale of the Manuel Ahumada Collection, June 2017, lot 143.
