1825 Matron Head Cent. N-3. Rarity-3. MS-61 BN (PCGS).An autumnal specimen with chocolate brown color and glints of hazelnut and olive-gold hues throughout. The surfaces are overall smooth and dusted with a layer of patina across each side. An old scratch has long toned over near the lower spire of star 7. Die misalignment has placed the denticles off the planchet along the left half of each side, though this is typical of the N-3 dies. Struck from Noyes Die State B/A, with just a trace of the crack from the tip of Libertys bust visible. Overall pleasing and surprisingly clean for the assigned grade. From the Paradise Collection. Earlier ex Heritages sale of June 2017, lot 3040; Heritages sale of March 2018, lot 3346.
