1824 Matron Head Cent. N-3. Rarity-2. MS-62 BN (PCGS). CAC.An impressively lustrous jewel offering eye appeal that exceeds what is expected at the assigned grade. The deep chestnut hue of the patina is accented by lighter caramel shades most abundantly on the obverse. Well rendered for the variety and particularly sharp at the centers. The surfaces are blanketed by a uniformly satiny texture and are spared from any significant abrasions. An old mark on Libertys neck blends well with the overall complexion and as do a few ticks at the N in CENT on the reverse. Struck from a relatively early state of the dies with a crisp inner circle equivalent to Noyes Die State A/A. Earlier provenance to the famed Dan Holmes Collection further emphasizes the desirability of this superior example. From the Paradise Collection.
