1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 4-L, W-2810. Rarity-1. Mailed Bust Left, Horned Bust. AU-58+ (PCGS).111.2 grains. This beautiful example is boldly to sharply struck with the distinct Horned Bust die break on the obverse at full length (although not full width). That side of the coin is trivially off center to 9 oclock, the very top of several of the letters in AUCTORI off the flan. Centering is nearly perfect on the reverse, and both sides allow ready appreciation of all major design elements. Satiny glossy brown surfaces are overall smooth with just a trace of minor roughness in the centers from the original planchet texture. A popular and readily obtainable die marriage, offered here in superior and conditionally scarce near-Mint preservation. From the Greenway Collection. Stacks paper envelope included.
