PCGS Currency Choice New 63. $100/$50 Double Denomination Error.Here is the second note from an irreplaceable pair of 1882 Date Back Double Denomination errors with this $100 note displaying the inverted back of a $50 on the verso. This note is the sheet mate to the $50/$100 Double Denomination note offered in the previous lot. This error resulted from the sheet becoming inverted after its first printing, culminating with the top note on the sheet displaying the face of a $50 and the inverted back of a $100 and the bottom note seen here having the face of a $100 and the inverted back of a $50.<p><p>Broad margins and bright well embossed paper are seen on this note whose pedigree, along with the previous lot, can be traced to the Grinnell Collection. The inks are darkly printed providing vivid detail to the engraved design elements. This note is every bit deserving of the Choice grade assignment and it is perhaps a point on the conservative side.<p><p>By some miracle this note and its $50/$100 sheet mate have stayed together for more than 100 years since their printing and issuance. It is our hope that though this pair is offered in two separate lots, they both go home with the same fortunate collector once the gavel falls.<p><p><strong>PCGS Population: </strong>1, none finer.<em>From Barney Bluestones Albert A.
