Fort Worth, Texas. $20 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 501. The Live Stock NB. Charter #4946. PMG Very Fine 25 Net. Restoration. An exciting new discovery note from this popularly collected area. The Live Stock National Bank of Fort Worth was chartered in March of 1894. Just 1144 sheets of Brown Backs in the $10-$10-$10-$20 format totaling $57,200 were issued before the bank was liquidated in November 1897. Just $870 was outstanding from this charter by 1910. No notes were known from this bank until the recent appearance of this $20 note that appeared "out of the weeds" in an otherwise obscure grouping of notes earlier this year. This evenly circulated note comes with the bottom selvage still attached. Bold penned bank officers signatures are seen along with bold overprint inks. The restoration mentioned by the grading service appears limited in scope and difficult to detect in the holder. A great Texas national from this aptly named "Cow Town" bank that is certainly missing from even the most advanced collections.
