A stunning note from this 1899 Provisional issue overprinted on a Columbian Bank Note Co. printed host note. The note has an American style layout and appearance. Named steamboat Francisco Montoya at the top center, but the scenery is American (note the quintessential river rafters along the Mississippi) upon close inspection and not Amazonian. Blue protector die "L". The back is brown. Punch hole cancelled and previously mounted are noted. The estimate is conservative relative to its rarity and beauty. PMG About Uncirculated 53. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Paper Money.
