The final example in this five denomination set of 1899 Banco Nacional Provisional notes, overprinted on an American Bank Note Co. printed Banco de Márquez, Barranquilla remainder note (P-S586). An unconfirmed listing in the SCWPM and as such, not plated there. The layout and colors of the host type are beautiful. Baby blue tinting on the face and a deep blue back. Central portrait as used on the Márquez series. The left end features an allegory of Christopher Columbus dressed in sartorial splendor with a Native American princess. Justice at the lower right. Punch hole cancelled in the corners like many 1899 overprinted notes in this section. A great opportunity to obtain one of the rarest 1899 Provisional type. PMG Very Fine 20. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Paper Money.
