Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Lock Haven Bank. ND (18xx). $20. Choice Uncirculated. Proof.(PA-260 Unlisted, similar to G10) Danforth, Wright & Co. Philad. & New York. India paper on card. Full length brown-red lathe tint. Milkmaid seated on log, shield bearing train, sheaves of wheat at center. Portrait of Washington at bottom right. Die counter XX at top left, die counter 20 at top right. Lathe bar with 20 at lower left. White XX 20 XX protectors in ornate dies near bottom center. Likely the sole example seen in lot #1600 of the 1990 ABNC sale where it was part of a tinted $5-$5-$10-$20 sheet. One of the $5s from that sheet realized $5,728 against a $2,500 to $3,500 estimate in our March 2014 Baltimore auction. We would not be surprised to see this note run away in the same fashion. The inks are sharply printed in bold color and broad margins are seen. An excellent Proof from this popularly collected bank.
