1794 Liberty Cap Cent. S-24. Rarity-1. Head of 1794. AU-53 (PCGS).;A lovely example from the second year of the denomination, bathed in rich milk chocolate hues with areas of deeper patina noted, mainly on the reverse. This piece is superlative in both striking quality and preservation, offering wholly bold pronouncement and smooth surfaces throughout. The denomination at the central reverse exhibits accelerated wear from a sunken die that is characteristic to marriages featuring this reverse (Sheldon-23 and Sheldon-24), and should not be confused for an imperfect strike. The bisecting crack mentioned in Noyes Die State B is faintly present across the obverse, appearing down through the L of Liberty and up from the rim next to the 4 of the date. An overall satisfying piece deserving of close inspection.;
