1892 Barber Half Dollar. Proof-65 Cameo (PCGS).;Ringed in vivid orange-copper peripheral toning, the obverse center is pinkish-silver while the reverse center is brilliant. Field to device contrast is bold and pronounced on both sides. The devices are razor sharp and all areas are expectably smooth for the assigned grade. Introduced in 1892 as a replacement for its long-lived Liberty Seated predecessor, the Barber half dollar saw a mintage of 1,245 Proofs in its initial year of production. This is easily one of the nicest examples that we have offered in recent times, and it comes highly recommended for inclusion in an advanced cabinet.;From our (Stacks) 85th Annual ANA Convention Sale, August 1976, part of lot 731.
