1868 Liberty Seated Quarter. Proof-65 (PCGS).;This solidly graded, originally preserved 1868 quarter exhibits splashes of reddish-russet, cobalt blue and salmon pink iridescence on otherwise silver gray surfaces. The strike is full, the finish is brightly mirrored, and the surfaces are smooth and attractive. Given the scarcity of the circulation strike 1868 quarter in Mint State, the present specimen will appeal to high grade specimen type and date collectors alike.;From our (Stacks) sale of the John Work Garrett Collection for The Johns Hopkins University, March 1976, part of lot 302.
