1869 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Proof-65 (PCGS).；This is an appealing Gem Proof half dollar that combines vivid toning with condition rarity. Certainly, it is one of the nicest to be offered at auction in recent times. Peripherally toned in sandy-copper, the obverse exhibits lighter olive-gray and electric blue iridescence toward the center. The reverse has copper-blue peripheral toning around a deep rose center. Sharply struck and appreciably mirrored in finish. The level of preservation and eye appeal of this example are superior to most survivors of this 600-piece Proof mintage.；From our (Stacks) sale of the S.S.
