1802 Draped Bust Silver Dollar. BB-241, B-6. Rarity-1. Narrow Date. EF-40 (PCGS).;A delightful and thoroughly wholesome example of this penultimate circulation-strike issue. The original patina of slate gray tones is accented with traces of bronze and cobalt iridescence in the peripheries of each side. The faintest traces of satiny luster glimmer from the protected regions, complementing the bold and intricate design elements throughout. Inspection with a glass fails to reveal any marks of note, as the surfaces are left well composed and smooth. An old thin mark parallels the scroll just above the right corner of the shield on the reverse, though this has been long worn into the overall aesthetic. This piece is a truly choice example with both strong eye appeal and superlative technical quality.;From the Graywood Collection.
