1652 Oak Tree Shilling. Noe-14, Salmon 11a-Gi, W-530. Rarity-4. IN at Bottom, Spiny Tree. EF-45 (PCGS).71.5 grains. We note a hint of light mauve to otherwise soft pewter gray patina on both sides of this overall sharply defined Choice EF example. Only at lower right and left obverse is the border into the peripheral letters, mostly those forming the word IN, but also the M and TS in MASATHVSETS. Reverse devoid of outer beading from 7 oclock clockwise around to 1 oclock, but the letters are free of the border except where a tiny planchet clip encroaches on the top of the L in ENGLAND. Texture is a bit rough overall, not distractingly so, and there are no significant marks.PCGS# 915746. BASE PCGS# 45364.
