1909 New Theatre of New York Medal. By Bela Lyon Pratt. Miller-25. Silver. No. 1. MS-65 (NGC).76 mm. Produced by the Medallic Art Company in a quantity of just 50 pieces, this striking medal featuring a young nude woman admiring herself in a mirror was designed and engraved by Bela Lyon Pratt, who was also responsible for the United States Mints uniquely designed Indian quarter eagle and half eagle gold coins of 1908 to 1929. This example has an especially fine medium pearl gray finish with subtle steely-olive highlights. Missing in silver from our March 2025 sale of the Scott H. Miller Collection, this is the nicest example in this composition that we have offered in at least two decades. It is sure to sell for a strong premium.
