CC-51. Continental Currency. November 2, 1776. $6. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ.No. 2281. Signatures of James Walker and Horatio Johnson. This $6 note shows a vignette of a beaver gnawing a tree surrounded by the Latin phrase PERSEVERANDO which Newman translates "By perseverance." In our recently completed rendition of the Richard August collection, we sold an example graded About Uncirculated 55 EPQ example for $2,880. This Choice Uncirculated 63 EPQ note is only bested by a single 64 EPQ in the PMG Population Report. The demand for high caliber Continental notes has not shown many signs of abatement if recent auction results are any indication. PMG Pop 3/1 Finer.
