Undated (ca. 1881) Pynchon House Medal. By John Adams Bolen. Musante JAB-39. Brass. MS-65 (NGC).25.3 mm. Light golden-olive brass with gently mottled patina over the prooflike surfaces. Soft rose and blue can be detected in places when rotated in the light. No handling marks worthy of mention and very nice overall eye appeal. No spotting, which is a common flaw seen on these in brass. One of 45 reported to have been struck by Bolen in this composition.From the Claremont Collection.
