One of the most, if not the, most enduring designs for Hong Kong with an issued life span of 48 years from 1912 to 1960. Print run figures for the entire issue may not be entirely accurate, but current data state a figure of 7200 notes printed only for this date, from 50,001 to 57,200, which is even less than the figure for the 1912 date, which runs from 00,001 to 10,000. However, the rarity of a note is not entirely due to printing figures but how many survived through circulation or war damage, loss, and bank redemption. The 1924, 1930, and 1937 dates are probably around the same in terms of rarity. PMG notes a population of seven notes for the 1924-30 date range and 21 for 1936-37, but advanced collectors will know that 1937 is far scarcer than 1936. Regardless of this, the top pop for both date ranges remains at PMG-25, so it is correct to say that this is a rare pre-war semi-key date note in natural, untampered highest grade!No
