However, the cataloger is not sure whether this method was employed in recent years, and it seems that in many places, this practice has been abandoned. Regardless, the production of the million serial number required a lot of work and thats probably the reason why they are no longer issued in Hong Kong. It is a common belief that the last million serial numbers for Hong Kong were issued in 2003, and indeed the cataloger has not seen this number on notes dated after.
