CANADA. Bank of Canada. 50 Dollars, 1935. BC-13. English Text. PCGS Banknote About Uncirculated 55.Osborne - Towers signature combination. A great-looking high-grade example of the Bank of Canadas first $50 banknote, featuring bright colors and only the lightest touch of circulation. This note was the first to feature King George VI, who was still Prince Albert at the time of issue. Only 131,000 English text notes were printed for this denomination. PCGS notes a lightly trimmed bottom margin, but this remains a stunning example of a rare and highly sought-after banknote that is virtually impossible to find in uncirculated grades, as confirmed by the Canadian Note Registry of this type, which mostly records notes in Very Fine or lower grades (and does not yet list the present example). PCGS Banknote comments "minor trimmed".From the Ken Barrett Collection.
