1773 Virginia Halfpenny. Newman 5-B, W-1410. Rarity-6. No Period After GEORGIVS, 6 Harp Strings. MS-62 BN (PCGS). A glossy autumn-brown example with glints of deep rose and lighter flint-gray. The surfaces are frosty in texture, uncommonly smooth for the assigned grade, and boldly rendered throughout. Solid and attractive Mint State quality for this decidedly rare Newman number and of the less common 6 Harp String reverse. LDS with a prominent obverse die break at the rear of King Georges jaw, reverse with the leaf under the letter A in VIRGINIA truncated. Numerous other small die breaks and pits are scattered about on both sides. PCGS# 913274. NGC ID: 2ATL. To view supplemental information and all items from the Sydney F.
