PCGS Banknote Gem Uncirculated 65 PPQ.The finest of the eight replacement 1928 $10 Gold Certificates graded by PCGS, this 65 PPQ is likely in the top three or four known, with PMG having graded only one 65 EPQ and one 66 EPQ. Possession of these notes was revoked in late December 1933 by Acting Secretary of the Treasury Henry C. Morgenthau, Jr. and banks were ordered to return all holdings to the Treasury. The restriction on holding these notes was finally lifted in April, 1964 by Secretary Douglas Dillon after over thirty years. Nicely-centered within four generous margins, the vibrant gold overprint and fine print quality lend outstanding eye-appeal to this rarity.
