San Francisco Mint Cast Silver Ingot. 1956 Round Dated Hallmark. Ingot No. 956. Lot 164. 26.55 Ounces. 999.75 Fine.59.5 mm x 91.5 mm x 16 mm. The front face has most of the stamps: hallmark / 956 / 26.55 OZS / 999.75 FINE. The lot number, 164, is on the lower edge. Lightly to moderately toned in pearl-gray, the only area of significant variance to the color is on the rear face and associated with a small, circular, well executed silver plug that is roughly opposite the hallmark. The most noticeable of the several casting imperfections is on the front face, between the ingot number and weight. A visually appealing example, and highly unusual due to the aforementioned plug.
