CARACALLA, A.D. 198-217. AR Denarius, Rome Mint, A.D. 213. NGC AU. RIC-206; RSC-222. Obverse: Laureate head right; Reverse: Hercules standing left, lion skin draped over left arm, holding branch and club. A well-struck and impressively preserved Denarius featuring an appropriately stern portrait of the brutal emperor. Along with brilliantly argent surfaces, the coin delivers well-centered and sharp details on both sides.
