CHINA. Szechuan-Tibet. Rupee, ND (1933-39). Kangding Mint. NGC MS-63. L&M-359; KM-Y-3.4; WS-0763B-2. Variety with collar, vertical rosette, and small head. People versed in this series understand how RARE it is to find an example of this type in this lovely of condition. Rupees of this series are often poorly struck and display subdued gray color, with many having additional problems. This example displays none of these problems, exhibiting a bold strike with details applied far more boldly that almost any other example of this type. Attractive mint luster shines and dances in the light, and a rich honey golden tone clings to the details in a fully charming display. A remarkable survivor, and one that deserves the attention of every collector who demands conditional RARITIES.
