10 Cent. Fifth Issue. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Back Engraving Only. A rare item and in this grade likely the finest known example. There are only seven known tete-beche pairs which all trace their origins to a sheet discovered in 1985. That sheet was then cut up to satisfy some of the major collectors of the day. These notes are true proofs as the ink is laid on so heavily you can feel the design elements with your fingers (thats if it wasnt in a plastic holder of course). These tete-beche arrangements were created so that the localized anti-counterfeiting stain could be produced in the center of the sheet and still appear at the proper end of each note when they were separated. Graded as a gem by PMG and the nicest example we can recall ever having seen.
