Undated (ca. 1652-1674) St. Patrick Farthing. Martin 1c.7-Ca.3, W-11500. Rarity-6+. Copper. Nothing Below King. EF Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS). 86.5 grains. Extremely sharp, with full facial detail on Saint Patrick, but also fairly rough or granular over both sides. Mottled dark brown, mahogany, olive, and tan, with a large messy splash that contains and surrounds the crown. The denticles are sharp, nearly complete on both sides. If this coin was smooth, it would be one of the highlights of this Saint Patrick offering. It remains a sharp coin well worth collecting. Craige noted "Nice condition; positive punctuation" on his envelope for this coin. From the Bill Gleckler Collection. Earlier ex sale of the Ted L. Craige Collection, November 2012 Baltimore Auction, lot 6117.
