Type VI countermark, crowned Y.II. within circle. Issued by decree of 20 December 1834, suppressed 31 March 1837 (By Decree of 1 February 1836). Applied to the obverse of an 1836-LIMA MT Peru Republic 8 Reales. The countermark is neatly centered, though slightly uneven somewhat obscuring some of the central design elements. Signs of being cleaned long ago, now lightly toned. A decent collectable example sure to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
