Ohio--Cincinnati. Undated (1860-1865) Elis Rouses Hair Preservative, Metropolitan Shaving Saloon. Fuld-165FB-2a. Rarity-7. Copper. Reeded Edge. VF-35 (PCGS). 19 mm. The reverse is rotated nearly 90 degrees clockwise from coin alignment. Satiny surfaces are both uncommonly well defined and exceptionally smooth for the assigned grade. Dominant antique copper patina throughout, the obverse reveals wisps of iridescent powder blue at direct lighting angles. Light roughness in the planchet over the lower half of the obverse is as made, and it hardly detracts from the strong visual appeal of this impressive piece. This is our first offering from this merchant in a decade, proof enough of the rarity of this issuer.
