Santa Fe, Territory of New Mexico. $2 Original. Fr. 389. The First NB. Charter #1750. PMG Very Good 10.There are just six $2 notes known for New Mexico. All six are listed in the VG to Fine grade. Thats actually an alarmingly high survival rate for a banknote type that was issued in limited quantities and in a place and time where paper money was completely untrusted and passed like a hot potato. This Santa Fe bank was chartered in December of 1870. It issued a total of $1,805,510 in both large and small size notes through the end of the note issuing era in 1935. The note itself is spot on for a VG 10. It is free of comments and the pen signatures are still dark. Per the National Bank Note Census only thirty Territorial Deuces are known to survive. This is no doubt a remarkable note any national specialist would be fortunate to call their own. <p>
