Burr Oak, Kansas. $5 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 470. The First NB. Charter #3880. PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ*. Between the town name, denomination, and exceptional condition, you would have a tough time designing a much more desirable Kansas brown back. This also happens to be just the second note recorded on this three year bank. Kansas has been hotter in years past, but one can expect plenty of collectors to have this on the short list. It is important to mention the star designation assigned by PMG. The holder can hide a lot, but this is a case where the originality jumps right through the plastic. It is clear that someone folded this twice, probably in about 1890, and put it away for generations. Dont expect to have a chance at something this interesting from Kansas more than once every few years.
