1875 Indian Cent. MS-65 RD (PCGS). A fabulous and conditionally scarce full Red Gem to represent this challenging 1870s small cent issue. Aglow with light pinkish-orange color, both sides also exhibit a lovely satin to softly frosted texture. Sharply struck throughout and expectably smooth for the assigned grade. The typical 1875 Indian cent from the mintage of 13,528,000 circulation strikes is worn to one degree or another, although enough Uncirculated coins are extant that locating one in grades through MS-64 RB should not be difficult. Even MS-65 RBs are obtainable with patience, although the same cannot be said for MS-65 RDs, as here. A highlight of the Indian cent offerings in this sale.
