Undated (ca. 1795) North Wales Halfpenny. Musante GW-51, Baker-34, W-11150. Two Stars. Copper. Plain Edge. Very Fine. 96.4 grains. Pleasing autumn and medium brown patina engages the viewer from both sides of this handsome piece. Well defined overall for this poorly produced type -- as intended -- the surfaces are smooth apart from a few trivial carbon flecks and surface nicks that are easily overlooked. This is the usual variety seen for the challenging North Wales halfpenny with single stars at left and right, flanking the base of the harp. This lot includes Colonial American Coin Club Photo Certificate #154604 for this coin signed by Don Taxay.
