1800 Washington Funeral medal. Funeral Urn. Musante GW-70 (Dies 4-D), Baker-166C. White Metal. EF-45 (PCGS).29.4 mm. 117.2 grains. Pierced for suspension at 12:00, as usual. Light pewter gray surfaces on both sides are nicely uniform and free of serious impairment, which is somewhat unusual for obviously worn white metal specimens. Under close study, numerous small marks and scratches become apparent, but this is to be expected. It is much more significant that there are none of the serious digs, bends or pesting that this composition is susceptible to. Though fairly well used, the clarity of the detail is very nice. Overall, this is a most pleasing example in this composition.Ex William Spohn Baker Collection, to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania by bequest, November 15, 1897.
