1919-S Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Unc Details--Cleaned (PCGS).An otherwise brilliant silver white example with blushes of iridescent champagne-gold retoning here and there around the peripheries. The strike is typical of this challenging issue, the central high points blunt, but there is no wear and the detail does sharpen considerably toward the borders. Wispy hairlines and a curiously glossy texture explain the PCGS qualifier. A lower mintage (1,552,000 pieces) issue that saw extensive commercial use, even low-end Uncirculated coins are elusive in todays market. This more affordable example represents a significant find for the budget minded Walking Liberty half dollar enthusiast.
