Lightly toned with full mint luster, the surfaces are uncommonly smooth even at the Choice Uncirculated grade level. Trailing only the 1921-S, the 1919-S is the second rarest Walking Liberty half dollar in terms of total number of Mint State survivors known. Even coins in the MS-60 to MS-63 range are elusive in todays market. Near-Gems such as this are scarce, while any example that grades finer is decidedly rare. Remarkably well produced, as well, this carefully preserved and visually appealing piece is sure to catch the eye of the astute Walking Liberty half dollar specialist.
