1858-O Liberty Seated Half Dime. MS-66 (NGC).More warmly patinated than the reverse, the obverse is awash in a target-like distribution of cobalt blue, salmon pink and reddish-apricot. The more reserved reverse is untoned apart from faint silver-apricot highlights. Boldly to sharply struck with a full endowment of soft mint luster. With a respectable mintage (for the era) of 1,660,000 coins, the 1858-O is a readily obtainable New Orleans Mint half dime in lower grades, although high end Gems such as this remain rare from a condition standpoint.
