Alachua, Florida. $10 1902 Date Back. Fr. 618. The First NB. Charter #8980. PMG Very Fine 20.The First National Bank of Alachua was chartered in January of 1908 and issued just over $500,000 worth of National Currency in both large and small size through the end of the note issuing era. The bank elected to only issue notes of the $10 denomination. The presently offered 1902 $10 Date Back displays even circulation with bold inks. The penned bank officers signatures have faded a bit but are still visible. This is one of just five large notes known to survive from the bank. Certainly a rare offering from this north Florida bank. The grading service makes mention of minor restoration which is difficult to detect through the holder.
