1896 (1910) Bryan Dollar. Restrike. Silver. 52 mm. HK-779, Schornstein-3. Rarity-6. AU-55 (NGC).According to Hibler and Kappen, the matte finish and the 8 mm (versus 7 1/2 mm on the original) TIFFANY & CO. inscription on the edge indicates that this is the scarce 1910 restrike produced for a New York coin dealer. Interestingly, Schornstein does not differentiate between the two varieties, noting the type in general as "Rare." Silver-gray patina, lightening somewhat around the legends and devices. From the Newmark Collection.
