1809 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-106. Rarity-3. MS-62 (PCGS).A supremely attractive, conditionally scarce early date half dollar that is worthy of a premium bid. Both sides exhibit softly toned pearl gray centers surrounded by halos of iridescent cobalt blue and reddish-gold peripheral toning. Well struck by early U.S. Mint standards, we note sharp to full detail to most design elements. Suitably lustrous and free of significant blemishes, this impressive coin is knocking on the door of a Choice Mint State grade. The 1809 half dollar is scarce to rare at all levels of Mint State preservation. This is one of the nicest examples of both the issue and variety that we have offered in recent memory, and it is sure to sell to a sharp-eyed bidder. From the Greenway Collection. Stacks paper envelope included.
