Friedberg 34 (W-30). 1880 $1 Legal Tender Note. PCGS Currency Superb Gem New 67 PPQ.This incredible Series of 1880 $1 Legal Tender Note has been remarkably well preserved and looks as if it just rolled off of the presses at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This catalog number comes with the engraved signatures of Rosecrans and Nebeker at the bottom left and right respectively. A small red scalloped Treasury Seal is found to the left of Washingtons portrait. Blue printed serial numbers are in gray serial number panels at the lower left and upper right. pThere are broad margins on both the face and the back of the note. The centering is superb and the inks are vividly printed. PCGS Currency has graded no other example of the catalog number finer than the presently offered note. PMG has graded two examples at the 67 EPQ level with none finer. This is truly an exceptional example of a challenging catalog number and offers an ideal opportunity to acquire an affordable Gem-quality note with the Joel R.
