1814 Classic Head Cent. S-295. Rarity-1. Plain 4. AU-53 (PCGS).Highly desirable AU quality for this conditionally challenging large cent design type. Satiny rose-brown surfaces with glints of charcoal-gray scattered about. The latter are associated with light surface scale, hardly detracting in a lightly circulated example of this type. Boldly to sharply defined throughout and smooth in hand apart from a few light marks over and before Libertys portrait. The final year 1814 is the most readily obtainable issue in the brief Classic Head cent series, although the type as a whole is scarce in problem free AU and rare in Mint State. Noyes Die State B.
