Live Oak, Florida. $20 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 660. The First NB. Charter #6055. PMG Very Fine 30.Here is a really tough Northern Florida banknote. Live Oak had a single national bank that issued currency starting in 1901 and lasted through the national currency era. While the census does stand at fifteen large examples, it appears that at least seven of those fifteen are held in one collection. That likely explains why in 2011 a lesser $20 plain back from Live Oak in a PMG 25 holder sold for $11,500. While that high water mark likely wont be toppled tonight, this is still a worthwhile opportunity for the discerning collector who requires both rarity and eye appeal. PMG comments "Stains."
